Infrared factorization in inclusive B meson decays

چکیده
We perform infrared factorization of differential rates of radiative and semileptonic inclusive decays of the B meson in the end-point region of photon and charged lepton spectrum, respectively, in the leading heavy quark mass limit. We find that the differential rates are expressed in terms of hard, jet and soft functions, which satisfy evolution equations. Solving these equations, we find expressions for the moments of the differential rates in their endpoint regions, which take into account all leading and nonleading logarithmic corrections in perturbation theory, as well as large nonperturbative power corrections. Expanded to the one-loop level, our predictions coincide with the results of existing lowest order calculations for B → γXs and B → lν̄Xu. Nonperturbative corrections appear in our formalism from the boundary value of the soft function in the evolution equation. The soft function is a universal process-independent function, which describes the distribution of the b quark in the B meson. Its behavior in the end-point region is governed by the nonperturbative asymptotics of a Wilson line expectation value. By considering the contributions of infrared renormalons, we find an ansatz for the Wilson line, which leads to a Gaussian model for the heavy quark distribution function. ∗On leave from the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics, JINR, Dubna, Russia

B?J/?(?,K) Decays within QCD Factorization Approach
We used QCD factorization for the hadronic matrix elements to show that the existing data, in particular the branching ratios BR ( ?J/?K) and BR ( ?J/??), can be accounted for this approach. We analyzed the decay within the framework of QCD factorization. We have complete calculation of the relevant hard-scattering kernels for twist-2 and twist-3. We calculated this decays in a special scale ...

We show that the resummation technique developed recently for heavy-light systems and the conventional approach based on the factorization of Wilson loops are equivalent. The two methods lead to the same results of the resummation of large corrections in inclusive B meson decays.
متن کاملPQCD analysis of exclusive B meson decays
Recently, perturbative QCD (PQCD) has been proposed to be an alternative approach to the study of heavy hadron decays [1{3], which complements the heavy quark e ective theory (HQET) [4] for inclusive processes and the Bauer-Stech-Wirbel (BSW) method [5] for exclusive processes. The basic idea is the factorization theorem, which states that nonperturbative dynamics involved in a physical quantit...
متن کاملB-decays in the heavy-quark expansion
Progress in the theoretical description of B-meson decays, in particular decays to light hadrons, is reviewed. The factorization properties of such decays can be analyzed using the softcollinear effective theory. Applications of the effective theory to both inclusive and exclusive decays are discussed. متن کاملPQCD study of the B SL and n c controversy in inclusive B decays
We calculate the semileptonic branching ratio and the charm counting of inclusive B meson decays using the perturbative QCD formalism. For the nonleptonic decays, we employ the modified factorization theorem, in which Wilson coefficients evolve with the characteristic scales of the decay modes. It is found that the decay rate of the single-charm mode b → cūd is enhanced, and a lower BSL is obta...
